Incoming!! Orient Mako Pepsi!

A truly stunning gift from my girlfriend, this one came just in time for my birthday (10th July)!! I wanted one for a long time now and as you can probably imagine, I'm very ecstatic! :)
The rubber band that came with it was replaced by the matching Pepsi coloured NATO within a minute after I opened the box. Shout out to Marc from ISLAND WATCH for taking some time off from his vacation and getting this shipped in time :)

Thanks Sundeep :)
I ordered the strap from Island Watch itself as I figured it would save me on shipping cost. Unfortunately I still haven't been able to find a local dealer for NATO straps :(

My pepsi says hi. Enjoy wearing it. Hows the bezel. Mine was very tight. Had to pop it open and bend the ring a bit.

Hey Sumanth, I really like that NATO :)
You are right about the bezel, it is rather tight. Might just pop it open if I start using it.

I have one box that i purchased from a local dealer. Although I am not very fond of him, he does keep a lot of watch related stuff. You can see the one I bought here - http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3655/3681812541_9951c1bba0_m.jpg
Its pretty decent and stores quite a few watches. I think I paid around Rs. 2500 for it.

PS: That's a pic of the old collection :p

Oops! Forgot to mention, the dealer I was talking about is called Lokhandwala Watches, its in Lokhandwala, Andheri (west).

nice pam u got there CF.

crazyfingers said...

Hey Sundeep, that actually is not a PAM, but rather what is considered by a few watch forums as a 'homage'. Basically, its used for a watch with a very similar design and look as a high end one, without any mention of the original brand anywhere. Its not considered to be a fake by some people, whereas others tend to disagree. I too caught that bug and bought one, however, I just couldn't get myself to wear it more than a couple of times and ended up selling it.
I do hope to buy a PAM 111 someday :)

Any store in india selling orient mako as I want to try the watch before buying. Will not go for it if heavier than my tissot prs200

Hi guys, really sorry for the late reply :(

@Pseu Donym - Thank you :)

@Nikesh - Unfortunately, I don't think the Mako is available locally. Regarding the weight, it weighs around 150 gms, depending on what kind of a strap/bracelet you use, I think it's about the same as the PRS200. I am using a NATO strap, which makes the watch very light on the wrist.

Hello From Florida CF, I found your image on a Google search and realized we have the same taste for Pepsi Makos the difference is I used a Indigo Leather NATO from Crown and Buckle during the cooler months and the same NATO as you in the summer. Best ..Tony

@Tony - Great to hear that! And as I type, I realise I'm wearing the Mako :)
